This sounds like a pretty clear case of indoctrination and brainwashing. Get them a good deprogrammer and they might see things differently.

Pre-tty nice...!

I prefer bull butter lettuce, myself.

I get what you’re saying. But I ask you to consider how long oppressed and marginalized people have been forced into silence. Consider that for the past 600 years, white male voices have drowned out everyone else. And now the marginalized and oppressed are finally being allowed to express themselves. As part of the

I hear that. Coffee is basically cigarettes in liquid form.

I have dreams too, Donald. All of them end with you and your collaborators rotting in prison, and I’ve made it my life’s mission to help make it happen.

I just read this article and it made me think of our talk. No hidden message, just sharing:

I literally had just finished a last gulp of tea when I stumbled upon this post.

I also realized that Donald came in and completely undid all of Obama’s accomplishments, so more term limits would increase that sort of thing.

The thing is, we shouldn’t rely on “one great person.” We should be relying on each other and ourselves. Expecting someone to come in and magically fix everything is a recipe for disaster, as we’ve seen. Instead we should all be working collectively. I’m fully in favor of the three branches, since someone still has to

I just want to make sure I’m understanding before I say anything more: when you say “racism” are you referring to racism against white people?

I get that, I do. But like I’ve said elsewhere, politicians are doing all of that already, plus gerrymandering and voter suppression to stack the electoral deck in their favor. And while more voter engagement could overcome those obstacles, there’s no guarantee. Term limits would be part of a much larger revamp of the

Can you elaborate? Because I don’t see how term limits would make people less engaged or less inclined to participate. If anything, it gives people more reason, since they won’t have to go up against corrupt lawmakers who have been entrenched in their positions for decades. It evens the playing field more; though, as

We could always outlaw lobbying, or at the very least make it much more difficult for wealthy lobbyists to do so.

Isn’t that exactly what’s happening now?

I’m all for intellectual reasonable discourse, and we’ll get back to that eventually. But for now, as long as people like Donald are screaming “fake news! Restricted or banned immigration for non-white people! Assaulting women is great!” (Etc), we don’t really have much choice but to be louder and angrier. Being civil

Why are you against term limits? I’ve never met someone against them.

I’m very much in favor of across-the-board limits. Term limits for the executive and legislative branches, duration limits for judicial. Sure, it’ll just give people like Donald more opportunities to put his goons in positions of power, but at least they won’t be in there for life.

Term limits would sidestep the issue entirely.

I understand getting overwhelmed by all the negativity, believe me. I think it’s important to remember, though, that if we help oppressed groups win their fights for justice and equity, it’ll create a better, more civil world for everyone.
