Yeah, I don’t know. It’s hard to trust mainstream historians. I’m sure the woman who fact-checked the Project was reputable, but this whole brouhaha causes me to look at “history” with different eyes.

Pretty sure there’s no bitchier group of people than historians fact-checking each other’s work!

I’m guessing because it’s specifically stated that it was her biological mom, it’s a little more complicated than that. You may be better suited for the story on The Root, which was very even-handed.
