Well put.  I am all about ending the occupation, but her flip tweets were offensive, albeit not intentionally.  

Even my lefty Reform rabbi supported the embassy change. I posted something from IfNotNow when it happened and she’s been chilly to me about it ever since. I don’t understand how we can preach tikkun olam and all the rest and sit idly by while Palestinian people suffer.

I think awards shows like the Grammys are like the U.S. Senate: they’re either going to get better and more relevant - and do their damn jobs - as the old white men die off and young people of color, whose ranks are growing every single day, thank god, with passion take over.

I have a good friend at work who is a practicing Catholic and we talk occasionally about having that in common - the calling to perform actual good works. I am so in love with Nuns on the Bus - lots to be proud of.

My MIL’s favorite store is Walmarts.

But that’s not all they are, which is the point, in my mind.  Chris Pratt is to his religious beliefs seems more like a Tom Cruise to Scientology thing.  Colbert makes fun of the church all the time.

In Colbert’s defense, he does mock the Catholic church from time to time.  But overall, I’m with you. I’m a Reform Jew and and it doesn’t really get any more progressive than that, especially since a large part of our base is now recognizing the occupation in Gaza.
