It’s one asshole who is holding the jury hostage because s/he doesn’t think the officer is guilty. From the reports I heard, the other 11 jurors are fed up with this and want the judge to kick them off the jury and bring one of the alternates on.

I’m sure the 1,300 people losing their jobs will take condolences in that.

My mom was the same way. A few of my family members were laughing at Trump and hoping he would be the Republican nominee because he would get crushed in the general election. My mom kept saying “I really think he’s winning.”

Actually it’s only 800 jobs that were saved. 1,300 jobs are still being shipped to Mexico. Also, the Carrier workers’ union leader is worried Carrier is going to cut the remaining workers wages and said they’ve had no input into the process.

This story has been brought up about Casey Affleck for quite a while now but has yet to get mainstream attention. This deserves to get more coverage.

That’s my feeling as well. I think she - like almost everyone else - was utterly caught off guard by Trump’s win. Whether it is guilt on her end or really believing in fair elections, I applaud her doing this.

Where I live charter schools are popping up like crazy. We also have about 5-6 charter schools that have been around for about a decade. Only ONE - ONE - is even remotely successful and has a very good reputation. The other charter schools are at the same levels or only slightly above in terms of scores as our city…
