There was actually a story in USA Today yesterday about the Secret Service wanting to go on a hiring splurge because they badly need agents.

I agree with this. Having friends who live in NYC, 16 blocks is actually a huge deal, especially with the insane traffic. That’s easily a mile or two in most cities. Good exercise, but their kids are small and that’s a lot of cross-traffic to go through.
