This movie was so, so good. I needed it as a palate cleanser after everything that went on this past week.

They should have waited a week or two to run the piece. Running it a few days after a white male went on a racially-charged shooting spree against African-Americans is racist at worst and tone-deaf at best. There was no reason they couldn’t have held off on the piece for a couple of weeks.

Sure there are a couple of idiots in my area, but the overwhelming majority of the churches where I live have basically given up on protesting Pride Day or gays in general. I don’t know what they say in their churches but in public they leave the issue alone.

It would probably be a nightmare to do background checks on each and every student who applies to the school. They probably should do it but don’t have the staff or financial resources to do it. they probably just trust that the person filling out the application is telling the truth.

I wish more outlets would do that. Mention the shooter once and then refer to him/her simply as “the shooter” or “the suspect”. I have barely seen any stories on the victims.

My guess (and it’s just a guess), is that the reason so many white people or cop defenders are quiet is that the victims of this terrorist attack (I’m calling it what it is) can’t be smeared in any way.
