Pretty much agree; I like the xenomorph as an unknowable absolutely mysterious force. Total Lovecraftian villain.
And by best i mean, most nonsensical
The best part of C3P0 is that he was invented by Anakin to help his mother in her slave operations
Not-really-suicide, just kind of angry Squad
Eh?
Yeah, absolutely. Something I often wonder if how many of the people that I love watching in Survivor would actually be fun to have a conversation with. It's a lot easier for me to view them as "characters", even if they're playing themselves, especially in a season that's been as well-edited as this one.
I don't really have a problem with them saying whatever they want in confessionals; they're still out on the island and subject to the mood swings and craziness that you'd get from slogging away in a paranoid jungle environment. I think that's what I liked about his arc; the hypocrisy of talking huge about playing…
(I saw this as quite a big fan of Savage in Pearl Islands, and someone who is 100% glad they brought him back. Fantastic stuff.)
Hahahah I love how this season twisted Savage's high-and-mighty nonsense concepts of honor and integrity right back in his face and all he could do was give Abi - surely the most deserving of any of them - the finger. SURVIVOR IS THE BEST SHOW ON TV BAR NONE
What does the man who is always on fire represent
Just give me THE ZONE
Yeah, the way everybody behaves in that scene is so disturbing - the troglodytes are so deliberate and matter-of-fact about it. You can tell for them it's just routine, which makes it all the more horrifying. Meanwhile Kurt Russel's yelling promises to the other guy and everyone else is just completely aghast.
Also - just noticed that the butcher shop is opposite the Mike Zoss Pharmacy, which is a reference to No Country For Old Men, and in turn a reference to a friend of the Coen Bros.
Hanzee is in it! But only for less than three minutes and a few lines of exposition. The gore is pretty rough in parts - the very first scene is a man getting his throat cut, poorly. After that it sort of settles down until the one very truly harrowing scene, which is pretty clearly telegraphed. I'd say that it's…
I forgot to say it last week, but the music choices in this show are inspired. I never expected 'Too Much Paranoia' by Devo to show up in a TV show but THERE IT WAS and it was basically perfect
Along with last week and Bone Tomahawk, Patrick Wilson is turning into an all-time great leading man. He's been consistent but his stoicism in the spate of horror movies he's done (The Conjuring, Insidious) has made him kind of forgettable. But chuck him as a good-hearted dude in a drama and he is like… I dunno, a…
Spade talks a little bit about being humiliated by that particular sketch in his interview on Norm MacDonald Live; it seems like it was a pretty caustic moment for 'em.
The only future role onscreen for Donald Trump should be as villain in a Jack Reacher film
