Could I recommend treating the wood with something like varnish or a nice colour? I forgot to mention that in my previous post; go to Home Depot, buy some cheap wood finish (maybe something that will seriously darken the wood; dark wood always looks expensive). It might take an afternoon or so to get all the relevant

I love wine cases; I repurposed 6 of them into bedside tables that can hold books etc for our vacation house, and I use the smaller one-bottle ones here at uni as medicine cabinets (the ones that come with the nicer port bottles have a plastic covering) and stationery cabinets. It looks awesome, gave me some

@iamellis: Yep. Asus EEE 1000. no "HE", just 1000. 40GB SSD, 95% keyboard, and aside from the unfortunate shift key placement, it's pretty perfect.

@bobby.tables: Damn right. I have the Asus eee 1000, which has 40GB SSD (1 8GB, 1 32GB), and it's awesome. it boots up in the time it takes me to unravel my headphones and I can drop it off a table without it even noticing.

Hey cainnovocaine, what do you have running on the netbook in terms of OS, and what app is the clock?

Here's an idea: turn the paper rack around, add all your external hdd's etc in there, along with a power strip (might need to get a bitter rack), and have ONE cable hanging down. or take that cable up and around. would look better.

what is this "adult" lego? do adults really need different lego? what's wrong with regular lego?

Epic Win. This is one of the best I've seen so far.

@Duncan Mowatt: Speaking of tablet...that thing is massive! that must have cost quite a bit. Sound investment though. tablets are awesome.

debit card.

Make your own!

@Alfonzo: Idiot. "you're" set.

This won't solve your laptop-lounging cat problems. They like laptops cos they're warm. Install a heater in that crate and your set.

/facepalm

@CapitalC: Yeah, for a quarter of the price. but also 4 times the thickness :)

@Don Southard: Then again, if he went for a regular ol' desktop then that would probably take up all the extra space he could afford :P (note: this is the case with me)

My problem is actually the distraction. It gets a bit excessive.

heh. sudo rm -r /

Heh. Loaded up my Eee pc (with SSD) with jaunty a few weeks back, been enjoying the short boot times quite a lot. don't even bother with standby. just switch it off.
