I hope Aston Martin comes through. Their designs generally are among the most tasteful and restrained of any of the luxury/supercar-ish brands, like a British Porsche. The DBX even feels like the Macan to me, in a good way; very much conservative from a styling perspective, but like it’s more likely to succeed

Nuclear is not renewable. We will run out of fissile material.

And this is exactly what Germany has been doing.

For context, EU countries all had a choice: invest in renewable energy which at the time was more expensive and not cost saving at all, or pay fines.

Germany opted to spend more but on developing an industry over paying fines. In Poland we’ve chosen to pay the fines.

This is good Jalopnik.

We've got something similar, though not as generous as that here in Quebec and it's worked pretty well so far. It helps that we also have cheap electricity, but I doubt we'd have had this much adoption without the subsidies.

I liked the nostril/kidney grille when it was more restrained, like this:

I would like to see a Tesla fooled by this

Who the fuck is voting NP...

not to mention, the lower the light, the closer it is to the column of swirling mist/snow/slush when driving under not-dry conditions, thus reducing their visibility

The superpower of misdirection.

Why does Kia put the turn signal indicators so low? They’re typically so low they’re not in most people’s line of sight.

I enjoy how this article keeps making the argument for racism anyway though.

Except he is still a victim. No, not with the noose (alleged or otherwise) directly, but with the response. All this needed from anyone was “Oh, it’s not a hate crime. This is good news!”

Instead, a massive response was basically “HA SEE WE TOLD YOU IT WASN’T RACIST THAT BLACK DRIVER WAS LYING NOW TELL THAT BLACK

Canada’s definitely more welcoming to the category than the US, I think it’s just that it’s a small market and the safety regulations are closer to those in the US than the European ones, so they still have to modify models to meet them. It’s not quite a big enough market to justify the cost of making a European model

It’s always kind of amazing to me that the entire senior management of companies like this aren’t ousted. Like, you allowed sales volumes to decline so enormously in the worlds biggest markets that you’re now considering pulling out of them because...you basically just stopped trying or building anything new? Truly

Yea it’s missing step 1: actually making good cars. Mitsubishi is where you go when you filed for bankruptcy last year and now you want to buy a new car on your minimum wage salary paying 3 child supports.

Buying a new Mitsubishi now is as smart as putting down a deposit on a Harley-Davidson or a cruise.

It’s been a rough 3.5 years so far in 2020
