the real answer is to change the laws to not require front plates.

I got a ticket for not having front license plate in OR after only having the car a month. Did this as a quick fix and ended up sticking with it.

Always loved the offset licence plates on 156s

I’ve driven my Giulia (thanks for choosing that as the main photo, Torch) for three years now without a front plate. I just couldn’t bear to ruin that beautiful nose. Luckily, no California cop has decided to pull me over for it.

Move to a state with no front plate.

Never mind the luggage. Let's hear more about those Amish and Mennonite fetish clubs.

Your first car was a 164, respect! An excellent Pininfarina-design, all models had to have a top speed exceeding 200 km/h, and the Busso V6 under the hood for the top of the line. It was one of my favorite large 4-door sedans growing up.

With the departure of Sergio Pininfarina and the untimely demise of his son Andrea in 2008, along with the stopping of car production in 2010 and Ferrari going with their in-house designs, Pininfarina became a small shadow of its former self, but so is the way of the world.

My father was a teenager when Expo 67 was on. Years later when I bought an Alfa myself while living in England, he told me the story of having seen this wild Alfa at Expo 67 in Montreal. A few years later at the Alfa Storico Collection in Arese, I saw the *actual* car that was at Expo 67. Was kind of a strange moment.

I would add to it that the Expo 67 site, île de Saint-Hélène (aka Park Jean Drapeau which still uses the symbol in your rescued sign), is the background setting for the Canadian F1 GP race circuit, set in the île de Notre-Dame since 1978 (one of my favorite F1 race setting and circuits, and one that I drove in my own

You could pick these up in the 20s not so long ago (15 years maybe). Since then, sales prices have risen considerably faster than inflation. That helps offset the high maintenance cost which makes them more desirable and further drives prices.

Thank you for the share. Interesting that he mentioned the car debuting at the ‘67 World Expo in Montreal... I found this original sign thrown out at my apartment building and subsequently rescued it for my unit. This factoid about the Alfa Romeo will now be what I share about the importance of the sign to me

No, but to confuse things, the first car made by Lancia was the 1908 Lancia Alfa.

Where these ever unloved?

Trick is always leave something minor broken, then the rest of the car will be satisfied.

The sound of their small V8 is intoxicating, and the design is classically beautiful on the level of the Miura. Love these. Forza Alfa, Cuore Sportivo.

Agreed. Before it got finished, it is hard to make a definitive case that the car was going to be a literal Eleanor replica other than the commentary.

??? you don’t want the good looks of a classic car plus the handling of a car with modern suspension and radials? at least he cut up a new car! doing it this way is a bit extra as projects go but, in his defense he’s presenting a show, so it kinda needs to be extra to give viewers an incentive to choose this build

I mean, they even wrote both tenses of “win” in all caps, so you know they mean it.

The YouTube channel in question is the popular B is for Build
