“Prize, wage, and support gaps exist between the genders at the elite level in almost every sport in the United States.”

I think he’s more so referring to the fact that he doesn’t have to physical carry a child. He doesn’t have to choose between having a child and essentially sitting out an entire year for pregnancy/recovery or choosing to not have children. Unless you think male professional tennis players should have to sit out the 9

It’s kind of hard to divide the revenue from gate attendance for both genders, but I’ll say the argument has more merit than the “women only play 3 sets, they don’t work as hard” one. The women would gladly play 5 sets but the tournaments don’t want them to.

I honestly think the whole ‘hormone’ portion of his answer was him saying, as delicately as he could muster in a non-native language, “I bet it sucks to have to play tennis while on your period.” Which is probably true.

I completely agree with Djokovic here. I watch both men’s and women’s tennis. It’s one of the only sports where the difference in size and strength doesn’t have a huge effect the quality of the match/game. However, men’s tennis is generally more enjoyable. If they bring in more money, then they should be paid more.

I’m completely for women power.
