Total nonsense. He gains nothing from a direct war with the US or Europe. Putin is not a good guy, but you don't become essentially the Tsar of Russia if you're not able to weigh the pros and cons of a situation and make the right choice based on your objectives. His objective is to retain power in Russia and die a…
Can we please stop pretending that somehow an intercept "gone wrong" could possibly start a shooting war between the West and Russia? Even if we're talking missiles fired and dead pilots, there is no rational basis for assuming that leads to a shooting war. Neither side has the stomach for it, same as during the Cold…
I will never like this fighter because it has only 1 engine. And all the stuff you've written about, too. But mostly the engine. I bet Navy aviators aren't loving the idea of flying these things a thousand miles over open ocean with only 1 engine.
I forage for wild mushrooms. I didn't learn from some forest wizard or anything; self-taught from field guides and internet. I've never poisoned myself because I've never eaten anything I wasn't sure of, and I never let myself believe that I knew enough to tell a "probably" good mushroom apart from any potential…
This car will look amazing in 2,000 years.
DIAGNOSIS: knee ouchie from shifting her considerable bulk when startled by the racquet grazing her back.
Oh please re: your geopolitical musings. Yeah right, like Russia would never have invaded Ukraine if Obama had shot a few cruise missiles at Assad. Henry Friggin Kissinger over here, folks.
Considering that Russia did pretty much the exact same thing to part of Georgia in 2008, ya know the whole invade to "protect…
So, the thesis is... the batteries caught on fire? And there's an international conspiracy to hide this? Or... "the terrorists" took the plane something something batteries? I'm not following... I also find the assertion that there MUST be debris to be questionable at best.... and how would passengers contact loved…
I can actually totally imagine that, can't you?
I disagree that this was the safest maneuver he could have made. The car behind the van is an unknown variable, and a foot or so difference in its position could have resulted in a head on crash. It looks like there was plenty of room to just go right.
Why can't it go offshore? I've been 80 miles out on a 28 footer that made the trip regularly.
We should acknowledge though that the cars would in fact be much, much more dangerous with 1,200 hp and insane cornering speeds. No amount of technology is going to keep you alive when you decelerate from 250 mph to zero in less than a second.
Hiking Clingman's Dome in Tennessee with some friends one time, I lost my glasses out of my pocket somewhere near the summit, only noticing about a half mile into the descent. So I trotted back up but couldn't find them. Wanting to catch back up to my friends, I was running at a good speed down the trail, feeling…
Rough condition? I guess that's relative... my dad would probably call this "great" condition if he was shopping for himself, as it looks remarkably complete and hasn't obviously been crashed. He's had some pretty wild cars over the years (including a hardtop E type) because he can take a car like this and fix it up…
I mean it's not GOOD, per se, and it rips off "Dead or Alive" something fierce, but I didn't hate it like I hate, say, Dick Cheney.
To be fair though, maybe the Porsche looks outdated because it's not the newest version.
At the start, was that a DB5 Zagato getting sideways? Is that a once in a decade event or what?
THANKS, OBAMA!
While I have no doubt that your elite private school did have some students with scores below 1200, I doubt there were very many. When I was applying in 2002, I seem to recall that pretty much all the top 50 schools wanted at LEAST 1200, and even then you'd better be damn impressive in other metrics.
