I just need to hear The Thermals reaffirm that they are alive every few years, all right?

Finally onto the last season of The X Files. I love John Doggett more than I ever could have expected, and I miss David Duchovny almost not at all. S8 shattered my expectations (which were incredibly low at that point), so I'm looking forward to seeing S9 play out.

Wow, Todd is really giving Lena Dunham a lot of credit here. He almost convinced me that the show's sloppiness had a purpose, but actually not at all.

"This puppy's not going to last long." "What, is it sick?" "No, popular."

Home is one of the scariest things I've ever seen still. But the list is a little heavy on Monster of the Week, no? Even then, we're missing:
The Host
F. Emasculata
Never Again

'I'm not sure I get how that would happen,' and then I think with my show, most people, they go 'Oh, all right, just go ahead.'"
This is what you have to do to enjoy _any_ television show. No bigs.

Strongly disagree. What you neglected to ever talk about was the brilliant _acting_on the part of the actor playing Lane. I think lane's decision was obvious, but it became obvious on Lane's face when Don was talking to him.

I don't doubt that Peggy will stay away from SCDP or that the show will be able to keep track of her even when she's not there. They've done a good job of people leaving the company and drifting around before (Joan, most recently) without the audience losing track. We often got to see old Paul a few episodes ago.

I didn't really buy into this until this line: "
But where watching week-to-week gives these moments the shock of violence intruding on real life and lends what’s a fundamentally pulpy show a gloss of “realism,” watching the series in a giant chunk could overemphasize these elements, turning character moments into the

Hung out with these dudes when they opened for Austra earlier this year, and they were a lot of fun. Really excited to see them putting out more work and doing well!

This show is funniest when someone is trying to be scary. Mickey this week, Marshall trying to scare Lily a couple weeks ago. The only reason it deserves a 7th season.

"WKRP in Cincinnati" doesn't get enough love; I'm pumped for that.

Really interesting to see how different Craig is from the characters in his Hold Steady songs. He talked about it in his Pitchfork interview this week too (

I'm boycotting if "Jack and Diane" wins.
