This Italian chap lives a very nice life. Here's a few gems from his instagram account (@PowerSlideLover) - all cars are his. Also owns 2 new RS6 Audis, 599 GTO, etc.

Jezza should focus on getting back to writing. He's multi-talented, for sure, but nothing beats his writing skills. The best journos in the world all admit that they prefer writing columns over making videos. I've read all of Jezza's books and the way in which he can entertaining you for several pages before giving

Hey how did you go about the 3rd brake light delete? I'd love to do the same...

Doug, have you thought about updating your first person bio that you paste at the end of all your posts? I've read it a ton of times and it remains funny, but surely "He owned an E63 AMG wagon" deserves an update.... no matter how exciting of a stand-alone fact it is.

Awesome. You should write an ownership review post in a few months time when you've had it out more. I've been eyeing a manual 2010+ V8 Vantage coupe for some time now.

Would love to hear a bit more about V8 Vantage ownership. Any surprises - pleasant or otherwise?

I'd grab a slightly higher mileage 997 GT3 RS, and with the spare $50k+ I'd get a CARMAX full warranty Black Series Mercedes. My two cars would perfectly complete one another. One's a comfy brute with a waggly tail, and the other is an RS Porsche; the best track car IN THE WORLD.

Could be worse... or better. Still undecided on this PT Bruiser.

R8's refusing to depreciate needs a post all to itself, Doug. Reminds me of the Z8, although the Z8 was a terrible car and fewer were made. And I don't believe the Z8 really depreciated below it's MSRP - ever.

Last summer I test drove the M235i. I loved the overall package, a huge step over the 135i that was mine for a year in 2011, but I hated the new electronic steering and surprising amounts of turbo lag.

From listening to Andreas at Porsche motorsport, it sounds like they're planning on gauging the market's reaction to the GT4 before deciding on a PDK version. I also suspect that a PDK would make the GT4 quick to the point where it would absolutely massacre any non GT or Turbo 911 variant... Perhaps that's not

Fully agree!

DBS / 348 / 355 maintenance costs are insane. I wouldn't mind a yellow 550 Maranello with a gated shifter myself, but similar story....

E30 M3s are over the hill I think. Don't have too much evidence though. Maybe people are starting to realize they're kind of getting... old? And they weren't THAT great? There's so many exciting cars coming out and so many cool cars becoming affordable now that 30 and 40 year olds holding on to an E30 M3 may want to

It sounds like they've been struggling to predict the market. The feedback they got on the 991 GT3 from customers is that the PDK is cool, but overall, the GT3 didn't excite them enough. So the RS which is going to be unveiled in a month's time, will be EXTREME. Then they built the GT4 to appease the people who cried

Whoa, what a pic. Cayman R wheels, nice touch! Don't see many of these in Guards Red (right?). I think CarMax had a Cayman R for a while. In that green launch colour. Would be interesting. Although these things are fairly bulletproof, right? So no need for the MaxCare.

ZR1 didn't depreciate much did it? Or perhaps later in its life. I remember checking them out over the last few years and they were astronomically expensive. I remember drooling over the 427 Convertible actually. Such a thing of beauty. Never driven in a Vette though, shame.

Haha, surely you mean PMY yellow? My 911 is Speed Yellow but anyone I've ever encountered has called it Pussy Magnet Yellow. Really, it's douchebag yellow haha but that's neither here nor there.

I did a bit of research based on your comment, and noticed that Boxster Spyders (2011-2012) are hovering at around $60k and just above, while the other Boxsters from that period are in the $34-45k range.

Do you think the 991 RS and Cayman GT4 are obvious collector's items too? I'm expecting the new RS to have 1,500-2,000 units. GT4 they said they would produce under 5,000 "for sure." But would gauge demand.
