One of my favorite cars I ever owned - an MkV GTI. Loved the seats, flat bottom steering wheel, and overall ergonomics and spacial optimization - but damn that was a bad interior for the time...

As some have said, this is their worst design from the 2 Series applied to 5 Series proportions. What a shame, as the 5 Series have always looked great even when the 3 Series (E36, F30) didn’t. And don’t even get started on the E60 as it looked the business in M5 or B5 spec.

Agreed. But what a pain in the behind to own. Just sold a mint but leggy 2003 540i M Sport. Wonderful car when it worked.

Looks like a Gemballa or Chopster special. Thankfully never approved for production and they instead focused on making the following generation Cayenne better looking.

My 991 has a sticky volume button too. #traditions

Big fan of your writing, Kristen, but isn’t posting a picture of the exact spec car that killed a Jalop hero a bit insensitive? I wasn’t going to say anything until I read your closing remarks... “And that sound! I hear that V10 and I die a little bit inside.”

Very cool. Funny that the RM Sotheby’s car you listed was originally delivered at Francorchamps Ferrari in Belgium. That’s where I had my very first Ferrari experience, sitting shotgun in a F355 Challenge car that wasn’t road legal. The test driver and I basically dragged it from red light to red light and then

My friend has a 599 6-speed with a later installed HGTE pack from the factory. Previous owner was Nic Cage!

Porsche RS.

Luxurious interior??? Surely you haven’t spend a lot of time in a gen 1 997? I mean, I love 911s... but let’s be real, they’re not luxurious.

A relation of mine owns a manual 599. It’s original owner was Nicolas Cage, who also splurged to add the HGTE pack. I believe it’s the only manual with that package, plus a celeb owner to boot and in the right colour combo w/ tons of carbon upgrades. He bought it for $400k last year, I believe. Worth 50% more already,

“Worse even than the time I smashed into that tree four days after I picked up my brand-new Porsche 911 company car.”

Nicole, he doesn’t own a “Gumball 3000” RS6. He owns an RS6 tuned by Statis with a one-off carbon fibre DTM-style wide body kit. He just happen to be taken it on the Gumball for the European leg in 1 week time together with his custom Ultima R2K Rebellion.

More Sniff Petrol on Jalopnik, please! His F1 Season Previews are hilarious.

I’m also curious to find out about its reliability.

Had to privilege to sample a Hayabusa powered Super 7 at a local autocross a few months back. What a ride.

On a scale of BMW’s shit Laguna Seca Blue (think E46 M3) to Ferrari’s Tour de France blue (think Chris Harris’ ex-FF), where does the color rank on your scale of blues?

Watched it a few weeks ago. Very well done. Was shouting at the TV for the guy not closing the Caliofrnia deal at Joe Macari’s. Tough to dislike him tho, he seemed like such a genuine, nice guy. Also, Joe Macari rules. He had a Ferrari F50 in one of the first Gumball 3000 rallies and absolute mangled the bodywork on
