It's almost like the Companion Cube if the Companion Cube was a world of people you'd spent hours getting to know.

Being able to reference media other than video games in a conversation about video games isn't toolish, it's the kind of thing that raises the bar of video game discussion. The cultural myopia of some gamers is just embarassing.

Is it just me or is there some kind of meta-gag about the repeated casting of famous showrunners now that Harmon's back?

I've watched it like three times and it only gets funnier. I honestly think it might be my single favourite gag Community's ever done.

I was actually really let-down by this. It felt kind of like Lost, where it sold itself as a mystery story all the way up until the end and then went "ahhh, this wasn't about the mystery, it was about THIS instead!" I spent the whole time going "is this it?"

Tim and Eric also killed it imo

Oh my god the cringe the painful painful cringe

Am I the only one noting that the animation in the falling scene was outstanding? Like, it's been getting better and better with every passing season but damn guys.

It just reads like he's listened entirely to bands he's been told are "essential" as opposed to developing tastes of his own (see also: being 13). But hey, his tastes fit the broader musical narrative so he'll be fine.

They're all old hardcore kids, and the 90's hardcore scene had some questionable factions (hardline, the Gravity/Ebullition screamo scene, etc.). You need to see 90's Wentz back when he was in similarly hardline Arma Angelus and had massive bro dreads.
