What year and engine? I’ve driven two and it seems the earlier ones drive worse, like worse than my far older Range Rover Classic. The later one drove really nicely for such a big car, felt a bit more like a saloon than a big heavyweight SUV.

I’m not surprised there’s a crossoverfied Ka. They made the Puma a damn crossover, hell, everything Ford seems to be slowly becoming crossovers.
But it is about a Ford. Sure, one which is the complete opposite of a Bronco, but it still wears the same blue oval. Although, considering the plastic bumpers, would it of been sold as a Ford Ka All-road now?
My experience with the ingenium is that they seem pretty good, reliability wise. I’ve driven a Discovery 5 and Discovery sport with the four pot diesel one, both pulled well and had a solid amount of torque and for reliability, my friends Discovery Sport hasn’t given him a problem over 40,000 miles. I’ve also driven a…
I am totally for a company fixing the old one, I just don’t see it as a Defender, really. I still like what their doing and hope they succeed with it, but if it’s my money, it’s going on a ‘20 Defender, it’s basically the Defender with none of the flaws and 70% of the character.
Well of the 3 Land Rovers (‘03 1.8 Freelander ‘94 300TDI Classic and ‘93 V8 Classic) I’ve owned, the one that has worked the whole time, is immensely comfortable, hasn’t gotten stuck in mud like my 300tdi Range Rover did, can take a massive amount of crap in the boot , drives and handles well is my 2003 Freelander. I…
Nice to see someone not blinded by nostalgia or some weird love thing for the old one, I still and always will love it, even if it is a bit shit. I was really not surprised the Defender went unibody, especially since Land Rover has been going that way since the late 90s, definitely pushing them to a point where they…
You know what, I don’t think you are even gonna care what I say so whatever. I don’t really you wanted a discussion on this it’s another fantastic example of why I can’t be asked with the offroad community. Sure, a “crossover” that is more capable offroad than 90% of the competition, can tow more and carry more, but…
So basically the car equivalent of on disk DLC...
Hang on, because I can’t modify it, it cannot offroad? I don’t get your point if that is the point? Out of the box, those figures are pretty much brilliant, with the only car beating it hands down the Wrangler, which 89% of buyers will probably buy over a Defender or whatever, but that isn’t my point. Those figures…
I love them but even compared to older land rovers and other 4x4s, as you say, just aren’t that great. Cool looking, absolutely, but just isn’t that good. I was definitely a bit sad when I drove a 110 and just realised I couldn’t live with it. The Range Rover and Discovery get shat on constantly despite being better…
I suppose, if anything, the Defender proves that the off-roader might be able to stay around in a world of ever more restrictive rules and regulations, but then again, I can’t see BOF designs dying out because of BEVs, especially with the Bollinger (I was impressed then I saw the price tag and then I wasn’t so…
Well they did make an off-roader? I mean you’re not gonna tell me a vehicle with 38 degree approach, 40 degree departure, 31 for break over and a pretty damn impressive 11.5 inches of ground clearance plus a 900mm fording depth isn’t designed to go offroad. I mean they’ve made a pretty damn capable machine with…
I see where you are coming from, but did Land Rover really ever have that market to afford to redevelop a 40 year old car that really deserved replacing or evolving 20 years ago? Many people say they could of pulled a G-wagen and made it body on frame, but Land Rover has nether the money nor the facilities to do that,…
Question, I’ve seen you commenting on how Land Rover is dead now because they stopped making the old Defender, and you big that car up massively. Have you actually driven a Land Rover Defender back to back with any of their products?
Exactly, they are very cool looking tractors. Some people might say that they are our (British) equivalent of a Jeep. They are sort of, but they also aren’t, they are basically a transit van with offroad capabilities. I love them, but the old one just isn’t a vehicle that I would drive as a daily, I want something…
If they can deliver that for the money they are saying, then I am sort of interested. Also sort of funny that an iconic car has received a remake (the Grenadier) and a sequel (the Defender) in the same year, I can’t think of another car nameplate that’s had that happen. Personally my money is still going on a…
Never got the problem with the X-type being based on the Mondeo platform, as it was the cheap one. I sorta want one as the idea of a V6, AWD and manual car which isn’t bad looking at all definitely appeals to me, especially the estate ones.
Not gonna miss it, frankly the general lee is probably the most over done homage in games. Hell, I even did one in GTA Online with the Jukes in orange with the Scottish flag, then realised frankly a charger is way too cool for that crap (the homage, not the the Scottish flag. I like scotch whiskey, haggis and I really…
