Well, isn't it frequently described as "aspirational"? Shouldn't we then aspire to diversity and inclusion? If its an "artistic vision," I find it laughable that any real artist would ever claim that only white people speak to their artistic vision. If fashion is "forward thinking," doesn't it seem awfully reactionary

Nice find, thanks for that reference!

Appeal to the widest audience possible? Because you're willing to take the money of ANYONE, regardless of whether they're white or not?

There is no way this guys name is ACTUALLY Muffley. Please tell me names were changed to protect their privacy? Because a gyn named Muffley is too much.

I think this all the time. This is why so many people are "model/actresses." That isn't to say that there aren't very talented people out there, but I would hazard a guess that the majority are just pretty faces who can say words intelligibly and look good in clothing.

Yeah, I too lol'd in spite of myself. It's just too absurd.

Truth. They did they same thing in med school and residency interviews.

What is? "Fashion?" Because the money getting thrown around isn't. I was in Barney's and the Hermes boutiques the other day and um, there were a LOT of Asian and Middle Eastern customers. I would said white people were NOT the majority, though I did hear a fair amount of Russian. It was a very international crowd.

I made the switch about a year ago. I'm working in communications consulting now, because they actually hire women. It was depressing how much they talked to me about being open to me "having a family" during my interview. I mean, that's great, but I don't have kids. Why does everyone keep talking about it? Do they do

Yeah, but being a doctor, I already work insane hours. And these guys were also married. I'm ALREADY married. What does that have to do with work?

Is that true, though? I know the Chinese have a LOT of money to through around, especially on luxury goods. Same with oil money from the Middle East. Who are these designers really looking to as their audience? I think the fashion world and the world of high end luxury is a global one, and global money isn't

I have a bunch of (male) friends here in NYC that have been picked for all sort and manner of backgrounds (one has a PhD in English, another in Sociology, one from biochemistry) for analyst positions, and I was like wuh??. When I left clinical practice as an MD, I heard stories of people from science backgrounds

OK, I don't mean this as snark, but it will sound that way: how many "men of color" are needed? What exactly is "of color?" especially to an international crowd? Should a fashion show in Paris reflect Parisian demographics? French demographics? European demographics? Or global demographics?

I kinda love how the French love the juicy gossip, but at the same time are pretty much "mais oui" about the whole thing. Of course political leaders have affairs!

No. She is adorable, and he is so oblivious - I love it! Though I have to admit, I kinda love it even more when these things just go on unrequited.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty clear:

Binds me up like you won't believe. But I have found it makes great hangover food?

I refuse to answer these types of question with gender.
