Mexico's wall with Guatemala, Humgary's wall, the Vatican walls, Israel walls, and the various Balkan nation's border walls all have segments that go a little more inside their territory. That's not true at all. Why would we lose the river? In some areas the wall is projected to be built 1 to 2 miles inward from the border. But that land will still be US land until you hit the border.
