Reading Hampton Sides' Blood and Thunder about Kit Carson. Just finished Robert Olmstead's Far Bright Star. Month of bloody Westerns, apparently.
Winner winner.
I just read Lonesome Dove a month ago and loved the absolute hell out of it. Never wanted it to end, but I've been keeping myself from reading the rest of the series so I don't overwhelm myself with McMurtry. Will definitely need to pick this one up, though!
I was thrilled to see Philipp Meyer's "The Son" get named a finalist for the Fiction Pulitzer. It was a spectacular novel, but I never saw much buzz around it.

This movie is fantastic. I show it to my film classes all the time.
Year of Penny!
