I was going to suggest that its because not all stories can be adopted to any medium. Stories about music and musicians, for example, are generally better suited for documentary, where explaining the context is key, than fictionalization, which needs to be more about what’s next.

I feel like this whole “what if reality is a simulation?” thing is our epoch’s take on the question of “is there an afterlife?” And in both cases, I’d say it doesn’t matter, your focus should be on treating others well and caring for the planet, because that’s the only way life here gets better.
