That is very sad. My worst day after election story was hearing a man tell a woman that 45 would be good for business “she’d see.” She tried to point out that all the “lock her up” grandstanding he did was just for show, then he was a liar. But he still clearly believed 45 would be good for business.

Yes, I don’t think they cared about the difference between popular and electoral vote.

This is reminding me of this article published on Vox.com after the election. In particular this line:

I honestly don’t remember thinking about it, but that is probably something about my own naivete.

Near the end of high school, back in 2001, I remember having a conversation with some classmates about if there would ever be a female president. The girls I was talking to thought that if we did elect one, other nations wouldn’t see us as strong, willing to do what was needed. I was horrified and tried to use other

They’re in a city park, you can tell by the bench. It’s just too bad because it would have been a better use of the acation for a photo in which they were in the woods.

To bad that photo isn’t in the woods.

The train of thought regarding Jones started last year with the revival and Chris Carter saying how he looked towards Jones for the contemporary conspiracy theories.

Yes the right wing media that started springing up around that time has to bear the most of the blame. I just wish there was someway to have stopped it earlier.

It’s not so much that the conspiracy theory out there (heh) as the mainstreaming of the conspiracy theory. Was it inevitable with the rise of the internet of pushed along by apopulr tv show?

While this is funny, does anyone else look back to The X-Files and worry that it influenced our times too much? Like it might not have given us Agent Orange, but if it didn’t exist would he listen to InfoWars and Alex Jones?

You left out George W Bush, macho posturing and an insistence that considering multiple sides is a weakness.

It was a pyretic victory, now we have to make sure we don’t burn down with them.

Does the top one intclude a heat mened by bandaids and a kiss. That’s kind of cute and creepy.

A more accurate analogy would be Hillary Clinton is to Helen Gahagn Douglas as 45 is to Richard Nixon. Just don’t try and fit any other people into the analogy, then it all falls apart.

This one is extra on point as the film get the fuck everything nihilistic view that led to this past election.

I don’t really have the energy to hate him the way I used to (and I could not read a puff piece about his daughter’s wedding) but I do blame him/his administration for a lot of the what’s going on. He personally praised Islam and Muslims but started two unjustified wars in Islamic countries thereby undercutting that

I both agree that he’s allowed to change his mind, and find myself increasingly angry that the flip flop accusation was used so successfully as a campaign against John Kerry. We as a people need to shed these demands for ideological consistency

She had to loose so people could realized how much bullshit scape goating was in that.

The whole outsider candidate thing goes back so far, at least to Frank Capra. And it’s a lie, a bulshit way of insisteiting “the world isn’t complicated, wrong headed people make it complicated.” I hope we get through this and abandon that romance.
