The meaning was that neoliberal control of the democratic party has utterly failed to either enact positive change or retain governing power at every level, so if they want unity it should be under a banner of leftist policy.

Every poll I’ve seen showed healthy support for Bernie from POC. The idea that his base was just sexist white dudes who didn’t want to vote for a woman was largely made up by die-hard hillary supporters. A lot of people really sincerely liked what he said.
