The one pictured above certainly did not either ;)
Reminds me of this:
The Impreza was a budget car much like the Civic except for a few notable examples not even available in the United States.
We're entering really tricky territory now...
How is the Cherokee getting beat by the Prez? That thing will outlive you, me, cockroaches, and twinkies.
Really? I think it's cool-looking. You mean the livery or the body?

Yep, that turbo diesel M21 was a crap mill. The thing of it is, here in the U.S. we have such a jones on for the e30 Touring that we'd happily take one with the diesel and, oh say... hobo Joan Rivers living inside it.
Wait, 100 something horsepower, 12 sec to 60, 18 second quarter mile but good gas mileage? THIS IS THE EQUIVILANT OF AN E30 PRIUS!
The E30 is a great chassis. To properly exploit a great chassis, you need a great petrol engine. Diesels don't cut it, no matter how much of a fetish this site has for diesels.
When I saw a 914 in copper color for 5 000$, I was getting ready to hit NP without even reading.
I'd fully expect to buy this and have it fall apart in the first few days of ownership, given the details surrounding the build. It'd pretty reasonable to grab the shell of a 914 and a Subie engine for under $5K and spend a little more money and time putting something together myself.
I'm actually surprised you didn't get ten kinds of flame for this... But yeah, gasoline is the better hydrocarbon, always been.
The dangerous smog levels that Paris had been suffering under – caused in large part by the Diesel particulates from Paris' many Diesels – was over double the safe limit, but after a single day of half the car population, it now seems under control.
