I've seen more people trying to figure out histograms than trying to take pictures! As a photographer, the one trend I see is that enthusiasts are forgetting about the principal issue: Exposure!

Q-tips and hand sanitizer gel works well for me. I've heard alcohol will ruin butyll rubber over time, but so far, no issues for me. I figure that I'll lose my earbuds or have them crap out on me before the rubber buds start drying out or cracking.
