I don’t just not like Evangelion, I actively dislike it. Largely because the only character who is proactive, who actually seems to have goals and a drive is Gendo, who you are pretty clearly not supposed to like.

Population increases no matter what, unless something kills off enough to maintain balance. Hunter/Gatherers need about 200 ha per family. Agriculture provides substantially greater returns for smaller land needs. A Hunter/Gatherer society will have to expand its territory, or accept that the vast majority of children…
Hunter-Gatherers can sustain a far lower population density then Agriculture. You are correct that quality of life got worse, but it was substantially better then the other option, which was mass starvation or war. Population increases made Agriculture the only option for early societies.
For those that are portraying the doctors or hospital as monsters, it is more complicated than this article makes it out to be. The simple fact is ‘there are not enough heart transplants to go around.’ Every time you give one to someone, you are killing a number of other people who could have gotten that transplant.…
It isn’t quite that. Making the hospital seem like monsters is largely directing your fury incorrectly. There are a very limited number of heart transplants available, and the Doctors have the duty to ensure that each one goes to an individual who will be able to live a better life because of it. They are not saying…
Jerry.
I am in for this movie.
Actually, yes, exactly. The Bill of Rights contains plenty of collective provisions. The entire tenth amendment, for instance. Or the “Freedom of the Press” from the first. Furthermore, a reading of the Second Amendment actually provides no rights besides those existing at the time, when firearms were commonly…
...no. No you couldn’t. Solar Panels and Wind are both pretty cheap, comparatively. But we have no technology capable of storing large amounts of electricity for long periods of time without significant losses cheaply. Plus, any kind of storage facility with those batteries would be an insane fire hazard.
And Michael Brown was “confirmed” to have his hands up and ask not to be shot. Except, you know, that it didn’t happen. I hope there is an investigation here, because there might be police misconduct. But indicating that because a single individual, who may have an interest in shaping the narrative of this reports…
Impressive story. I’d love to see one from the point of view of a Corrections Officer, since you pretty much show them as completely inhuman monsters determined to rip away the rights of minorities.
I didn’t change the reasoning behind it though. The inherent logic of the statement is the same one the Ku Klux Klan or Richard Spencer subscribe to. If you accept that, well then. If you believe the context of their arguments is all that makes them wrong, then you are at the very least not hypocritical. I personally…
Here is the thing. You have the right to hold your club meetings as black only. But I literally can word for word replace “Black” with “White” and get a statement a Grand Dragon of the Ku Klux Klan or Richard Spencer would say. And you should be called to account for that.
Here is the problem: code-switching as a concept is reliant on racism. There are two possible rationales: 1. that a given person is white will make them more likely to look upon your poorly for acting African American. 2. That you wish to be free to express opinions about white people you wouldn’t be comfortable doing…
Maybe a triple XXXL.
Not really. Trayvon Martin did engage in a physical altercation (please note, not defending the verdict in that trial, just pointing out a difference.) This is substantially more clear cut.
Really? Because I’m a white person and not really bothered? It is a statistical fact that African American Males are murdered at a far higher rate than other groups.
You responded to my response to the post of a third party.
But the post I was responding to called for Juror’s to violate their oath to the court and prejudge a man guilty, based not upon the evidence before them, but a stereotype. That’s wrong.
In the context of the Jury Box? It shouldn’t. No one, pauper or billionaire should be treated differently than any other citizen. You claim to be a Defense Attorney, you should know that.
