Some games have patch notes that require no enhancement. Dwarf Fortress is my go-to for that. The batsith insanity they have to patch in/out of that game is sufficient entertainment in itself.

This is simultaneously a willfully nihilistic call to inaction and a profoundly tragic misreading of history. My condolences to your friends and colleagues, because you must be a hit at parties.

There are several faulty assumptions in this statement. Firstly, no public corporation values employees except to the extent that they are assets that contribute to its continued profitability. This should be evident in the fact that, literally earlier this year, Activision-Blizzard let go of hundreds of employees.

It’s not an issue of surprise or gullibility, I don’t have to be shocked by an action for it to be appalling. The problem at the heart of this is that we think of corporations as entities that have a will of their own. Like they’re natural forces, except instead of being at the mercy of gravity or climate we’re at the

Ad yet somehow still a more tolerable team than Washington.  It shouldn't be possible, but you can always count on Dan Snyder to find a way to punch through the bottom of that barrel and keep digging down.

Your umlaut should be over the "a" in "männer" not the "e."

You're absolutely right.  Prizing realism and political expediency over a compelling progressive vision is what got us this far, no reason to change tack now that things are going so well.  Once Biden wins this election, which as an establishment Democrat doing well in the polls he is guaranteed to do based on

How was Republicans impeaching Clinton a mistake? They had a near-stranglehold on government for like a decade! Bush Jr. got 2 terms!

Pretty sure nobody wins regardless.

Look at the optimist over here assuming we'll be alive in a few decades.

But when Republicans failed to impeach Clinton the GOP won huge for like the next 6-8 years. The idea that we could predict the electorate’s response seems laughable given current circumstances, and past precedent suggests Pelosi is wrong anyway. Not to mention that some democratic principles are worth more than

I think it’s probably a confluence of racism, classism, and popularity (or lack thereof). Opera has traditionally been the province of wealthy white people, both in performance and composition, but combined with that it may also be that it’s not popular enough to be something black musicians were wanting to break into?

I’m not sure why I would “take away the jokes” in a movie that bills itself as a comedy?  Like, if you take all the gunplay out of Die Hard it's just a movie about Bruce Willis crawling through vents and bitching about it, but that doesn't make Die Hard bad.

That’s unkind to Ned Stark, who at least had a conscience.  More like 31 Robert Baratheons and 1 Tywin Lannister.

I’d take either of those wagers any day of the week. To begin correcting the numerous factual inaccuracies: Manning’s disclosure to WikiLeaks was made prior to WikiLeaks devolving into a compromat factory for Putin. Edward Snowden’s disclosure was provided to the Washington Post and the Guardian, not WikiLeaks.

I don’t understand Summoner well enough to grasp if it solves the core issues I’ve heard friends complain about. It seems like a really difficult class to play, and not in a rewarding way, but more like it’s obtuse and counterintuitive. Like not casting certain spells immediately after a summon because they won’t

I would say that having a friend explain Stellaris to you is a great way to play. The multiplayer is really fun, and it’s a good way to get introduced to the game because you have an ally to keep you alive when you inevitably irritate a vastly more powerful species of racist genocidal spacefaring treants. At least on

Barack Obama is many great things but, based on his time in political office, being anti-establishment is transparently not one of them.

I just wanted to pop back in and say that “regalia” is a cool word that is underused and it’s cool to own an outfit called that.

Sure, but self-censorship is not necessarily a bad thing.  It frequently dovetails with editing as a concept, and if these devs had refrained from being overtly homophobic in their game because of self-censorship due to societal pressure I would consider that a victory for people who aren't bigots.
