I don’t know if I’d be happy with a car missing paint and clear coat, but I do love the concept of evidence of a life-well-lived. While my W220 is decades removed, I certainly agree that the best Mercedes is one which is used for it’s intended purpose - driving it. I get flak from people, mainly my family, about how

Bow before the patina king.

Came here to find that, or post it if I didn’t find it...

I’m a big fan.

Liar. My Mom is a Boomer and doesn't know how to get on the internet so no way you're one.

I’m a boomer. I think Harley is getting what it deserves.

Holy shit, you didn’t hit the nail on the head. You nuked it from orbit.

Harley has a rich history of hill climb and flat track. Some kind of dirt oriented adventure bike should be a natural fit.

To fix HD:

Seriously, they missed the adventure bike crazy by a solid DECADE

Axing Buell was the single most stupid thing H-D did in recent memory. Couldn’t afford one, but the dealership made me test ride it anyway. It was glorious out on the backroads, and - 47 years and 30+ motorcycles under the belt - only the second bike I ever felt home with right away (the other was a K100). Familiarisat

It is literally Trumps fault because he slapped a bunch of tariffs around the world and they retaliated by hitting Harley with tariffs.

The funny part about conservatives trying to be funny is that they keep trying.

So this guy was at the helm when they axed Buell, then squandered numerous opportunities to resurrect that brand when the economy picked back up, even when other brands were putting out new sport bikes and making money doing it.

Eagerly excited to watch the company implode. Sooner Harley is out of the picture, the sooner the rest of the bike market can start earning some good graces back. Most of the squids are already gone, so we’re halfway there already.

I on the other hand, am ecstatic to watch them swandive off a cliff. Their annoying customer base, with their loud pipes and general dickheadedness always reflected poorly on the rest of the bike market.

I can’t believe this took this long. Levatich is the Wayne Fontes of motorcycling. There is no cup of coffee this idiot couldn’t mess up. Apologists point to an industry decline, but he missed every hot trend in the industry, including those that played to their core strengths. How did they miss the retro trends?

Man that’s pretty sad because I loved Harley I really do
