Is there any way to block all these speedrunning-related articles?

I was, too. I had resigned myself to never playing it, but then I got gifted a One S and Sunset Overdrive was the first game I bought for it. Just finished it recently. It’s so so so good.

As a new One S owner (as of Christmas this past year), they are going to have to really provide some big hitters that take advantage of the hardware for me to consider another upgrade (I upgraded to a PS4 Pro + 4k TV at the end of the year, too).

I upvote/star anyone who loves Sunset Overdrive as much as I do.

He prefers the name Rexual Chocolate.

No. You should learn to read. I have never, and will never until I play it, make a negative combat about this game (other than, god damn it, I wish I had a Switch to play it!). Take your anger and finger pointing elsewhere to someone else’s posts.

It’s, sadly, something don’t really think about until it sucks or breaks. A good UI or user experience is at its best when it melts into the background. It’s the catch-22 of good design.

The technology doesn’t exist yet, for sure.

Yeah, I may not develop games, but I have helped develop plenty of multi-million dollar software projects. The design and development process if always a compromise. There’s always a give and take, a balance, so to speak.

To clarify, I am not a game UX designer, just a UX designer in other digital mediums.

I don’t. But I don’t see how that’s relevant.

Because racist rants and humorless jokes are the sort of content we need more of.

I’m not saying they didn’t put thought into the game. But there are clear, common moment-to-moment areas where they could have put more. This sort of discussion raises some good ones.

Did not know that! Cool. Nvm then. It’s a bit different, I guess, if it’s an Easter egg for long time fans of the company.

As a UX designer myself, I appreciate this sort of analysis. In regards to a hobby that is one of the most immersive interactive experience out there, that hundreds of millions of people choose to do daily, it boggles my mind when game designers don’t put more thought into their interactions like this. There have been

Completely. It has an online co-op component, but I never bothered with it (figured it’d be dead by now, anyway).

As someone who just finished (and loved!) Sunset Overdrive, I’m totally up for another open world game that doesn’t take itself too seriously. It also kind of gives me a Crackdown vibe, which is another open world game I always enjoyed (and whose sequel I expect we get more info about come E3).

As someone dusting off the cobwebs to play Diablo 3 seasons for the first time on consoles... I know the feeling.

False. My dad used to drive Buicks. My sister and I are proof it’s happened at LEAST twice.
