I would recommend the 301WA or rt600C from thermoworks over the thermopop. Same lifetime warranty, better precision, faster response time.
The 301wa is also recalibrateable in the event that it goes slightly you can fix it. The rt600c has a similar “reset” feature.
Unfortunately there aren’t really any good single serve electric burr grinders. It’s either the $40-50 manual ones, of the ~$200 large ones.
Just an FYI it’s called thermal shock.
Neat, first I’ve heard of this one. I like it.
A bit late to the game, but I wanted to say that I saw this shit when I was shopping at my place of work (retail store with average shopping time of over an hour). Called LP had the owner of license plate xxxxx to call the operator, and asked them to go to their car immediately. Called the cops.
No you’re a terrible person. You’re not tipping for your food, or timeliness, or pretty much any other reason you’re going to a restaurant for.
Yeah but it’s not helping the rich so no one cares. Trickle down effect amirite?!?
Not sure if serious, just going to assume you're not.
Tell me more. I also have a sodastream and homebrew. I now have a kegerator but will be leaving it behind in a move soon. I assume you can’t backsweeten with this method?
Overall descent right up. A couple more things to add, the thickness of the frame has just as much bearing as the material type. I would rather have 3/4” MDF then .5” plywood.
thermal foil: another pro is that dents and scratches are pretty much invisible unless they’re significantly deep.
Oil it, dry it off when you’re done with it. I’ve had my inexpensive 1 + 1/8” solid wood cutting board for about 3 years. No issues.
Same experience with butcher blocks. Personally, I would oil it, then seal 80% of it, and leave 2 feet or so marked off with a strip of paint to designate a cutting surface. All else is…
A wooden version of IKEA ALGOT for 10x money?
The IR thermometer is coming up at $20, not $12. Not really a deal at that price.

Missed opportunity...
Thermoworks has a few great thermometers, the thermapen is pretty much the best thermometer on the market period end of story period. However the Rt600C, and the RT301WA are both of similar performance. The rt600c is about 25 bucks, and the rt301WA is slightly more. Both offer near instant readings, about 3 seconds in…
This. Hey dentist office I don’t care about your voicemail about my cancelled appointment, you made me make it months in advance.
I got a rice cooker fairly recently, and always get either burnt rice (not just stuck to the bottom) or soggy rice. My solution was a double boiler in the rice cooker with a slightly lower amount of water. Perfect rice now!
I’ve yet to purchase a metal filter, there are 4-5 of them available and each of them seems to have different properties. Anyone know of a comparison between them in regards to size, filter size, materials used, and longevity/warranty?

As an IKEA coworker, I stand by this claim.
