PSP had more than its share of ropey console ports and “console-like experiences on the go”, which as Amethyst rightly mentions were never really what the market wanted. The games were more expensive, too, and neither the d-pad nor the analogue nub were particularly good. I loved Lumines and Loco Roco and not much

debate is always a useful excuse to refresh my knowledge on a topic.

And “if not better” is just fucking ludicrous. Streaming a movie on Netflix simply does not look as good as if you watch it on blu-ray.

Taken from the Bitcoin wiki:

Then you looked at an article from 2013 or so I guess, or were looking at a mining pool that actually mines something else and automatically trades it for Bitcoin afterwards. You appreciate that anyone who uses a GPU to mine Bitcoin will see less than 1% return per watt vs. using an ASIC, yeah? It’s that stark. It’s

That’s handy, because I wasn’t attempting a defence of crypto. You asked what those GPUs were being used for and I told you.

Then what were they doing with those Gundam-branded 3080s this July?

Bitcoin really hasn’t been mined with GPUs for years. Go look it up. The first ASICs for SHA-256 were released in around 2012 or so, and they were ~100x more power efficient than GPUs, which meant that the latter disappeared from Bitcoin mining rigs almost overnight. Plenty of other coins are still mined with GPUs,

I’ve said, several times, that if this is a crisis to you, it would be a crisis about YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram

it’s a form of difficulty and prioritising, just like DarkSouls can offer

you saw that owners of OnlyFans accounts -can- advertise said things to their audience on Twitch

reality check, no one is doing this

Bitcoin is the big problem, though. Almost every other cryptocurrency is a fraction of a percent or less by any comparison. Bitcoin hasn’t been mined with GPUs in eight years or so - instead custom chips are used.

It really isn’t, though. Why do you think cryptominer morons are buying old power plants? Because this shit wastes a shit-ton of electricity.

I don’t think 2 more months threatens the existence of life on the planet as the article implies. I’d rather the changeover happened today, or five years ago, but at least we’re moving in the right direction. The author evidently doesn’t know what they’re talking about whilst acting like they know what they’re talking

I am fine with all the “omg such a waste of money” type criticisms, and I’m there with you, but the stuff about the ecological nightmare is simply misinformed. Etherium’s switchover date to proof-of-stake was recently moved forwards to the end of the year. After that point, it will be literally impossible to mine

The fact that minors could theoretically become hooked onto OnlyFans is not the fault of people who run OnlyFans accounts, it is a simple fact of the internet today. You are pretty much always a few clicks and a credit card number away from porn

Yeah, this is my kind of nonsense too. For once the shipping to the UK wasn’t $40 or something similarly ridiculous.

Wake me up when it’s three times smaller.

Saying that Twitch streamers who have OnlyFans and promote them are ‘advertising literal porn to minors’ is an attack on sex workers, when they are not doing anything that isn’t also happening on Facebook, Twitter, or other social media sites that people use to promote their brand.
