This game isn’t taking away your full fat XCOM games.
So firstly, thanks for taking the request seriously. Appreciate you taking the time.
these days with Amazon server hosting being dirt cheap, no MMO really has an excuse for the monthly fees they charge either.
I have a few word games on my phone, but generally I’d rather read than play them. I never found much else of note, and it wasn’t for lack of trying, albeit five or ten years ago. Once bitten, twice shy.
I’m incresingly shocked that people can’t be bothered to do the slightest bit of digging to find decent games on phones.
What you’re suggesting here is that all games are created equal, and that all monetisation options have the same consequences on game design. Do you seriously believe any of that?
Pretty close!
Uh huh. Pay me no mind, I’m just a part of the propaganda machine.
When I saw the image I assumed it was a spin-off from Parasyte, you can add that to the list.
The developers who aren’t attempting to achieving parity between multiplatform games still have the significant additional cost of developing a unique version for the Switch (or they just don’t bother with a Switch version at all, in which case they’re outside the remit of this discussion). Who do you think pays for…
“It hasn’t happened to me so it doesn’t happen in Japan”
(Didn’t spot the date on this, ignore)
(Don’t know how I ended up here, ignore.)

if you have a big, graphics-heavy multiplatform game
I have a PS4 game. I decide I’m going to port it to other platforms. Which has the greatest engineering cost - the XB1 port, or the Switch port?
They’re right, though. At least, the numbers are correct, going by Microsoft’s own page that you linked. I do think that <40 titles from original Xbox is a pretty unimpressive showing.
Yeah, I remember it well - on the shitty rechargeable AAs of the era it seemed to die in about half an hour. I never owned one but a couple of friends did back then, and I... wasn’t terribly jealous. The combination of the ultra-blurry screen and hopeless battery life did limit its appeal pretty seriously.
We’re talking about people who are prepared to open and maintain a dozen or more credit cards to use in their bots. I’m sure there’s plenty of grey-market demand for Steam accounts (for review purchasing etc), even if they have to go buy a few it’s not going to stop those folks.
