The first Densha de Go game was on PS1, I’m pretty sure.

Jesus. I occasionally get KFC if I’m on a motorway and just need to eat. It’s always dire - no amount of slaw or gravy seems to overcome its greasy mediocrity. I don’t really know how you’d make it worse.

Best of luck in your future endeavours.

I’m not going to knock your optimism, but I am definitely on the “wait and see what they manage” re: Android emulation on desktop. Even if they manage to make loading and running seamless they’re still apps designed to fundamentally different control and display requirements.

we’d be stuck with Windows 95-looking phones by that principle.

it seemed like just rebranding away from Vista was enough to get vendors on board.

Vista, while eventually stable, wasn’t particularly user friendly and, for what it was, was a bloated mess from a resource standpoint even at the end of its life cycle.

What Android apps are you using that don’t have some kind of native Windows equivalent? Web apps don’t tend to favourably compare to anything.

I was watching a video recently where they went through the list of exclusives on both PS5 and XBS, and it’s about a dozen games with only maybe three of them being worth more than a casual glance. It’s pretty disappointing, honestly. Makes not owning either right now a lot easier, though.

For all the ethical headaches AI/ML bring with them, they certainly deliver some amazing results.

I don’t think those games are landlocked to their respective systems because Nintendo lack foresight. It’s kinda the opposite: they just don’t see any money in allowing people to carry them over.

Aren’t you excited to run Android apps designed for tiny touch screens on an OS designed for big monitors and a mouse? Don’t you want access to all the top-quality touchscreen content on Amazon’s app store, right on your desktop?

Because Windows doesn’t run on a phone, and nobody uses Windows like they use their phone. Hopefully they’ll row back the UI nonsense, just like they did in Win8, when they should’ve learned their lesson.

Yeah, XP SP2 was fine, earlier versions were pretty dicey.

Here’s a bet: if Windows 11 makes bluetooth “just work” I’ll eat my fuckin’ dongle. Feels like a pretty safe bet to me, most encounters I’ve had with bluetooth devices on a Microsoft OS have been a headache one way or another.

Yeah, occasionally I look through the retro game hardware at AliExpress and it’s absolutely riddled with these things, I suspect a lot that make it onto Ebay et al come from there. I did manage to find a seller on there who’d make me a cart of the demoscene ROM of Titan Overdrive, though! I was really surprised, it

Oh god, now I remember that cathedral. It’s staying uninstalled.

I drink coffee/tea most of the year but around now I switch to cans of Coke or Pepsi, I can’t stomach a hot drink on a hot day. I made the jump to the diet variants about five years back and it really did not take long before my brain stopped fussing over the difference in taste. Occasionally I get bought the wrong

I remember reading an indie dev who said they’d rather lose a sale than sell at those prices, which did seem extreme (I mean, if £20 is a lost sale and the offer is £10 or nothing, I’ll take the £10 every time), but 80% of all sales going that way is pretty ridiculous. I just pay the UK prices.
