The designer had a vision. Of an alien bowel movement.

Um no. The PDK is an automated manual with two clutches. It has no torque converter. The popular ZF 8-speed is an automatic.

They aren’t automatics. The PDK is an automated manual. There is a difference. Just sayin.

Came here to say Yawn. But you summed it up.

I'd rock that at my funeral.

Multi. This is definitely not a centerline-thrust aircraft.

While very uncommon, it certainly isn’t a new concept. The VFW 614 was built and flying decades ago. No doubt that advances in quiet engine technology have made the idea more relevant now.

LOUD NOISES!

My credit union gave me 1.74% for 60 months on a 17 year old Porsche. I was gonna pay cash for the thing but it made no since with rates that cheap.

Most airline pilots would consider that a good thing. The closer the engines are to the centerline of the aircraft, the easier it is to control during single engine emergency operations in flight, especially when making changes in thrust. And believe me, a centerline thrust aircraft like the MD-80 still has plenty of

There isn’t an issue per se, but Embraers can be more difficult in turbulent landings while flying with one hand on the yoke and the other on the thrust levers. This is due to the “rams horn” design of the yolk which reduces leveraging ability of your arm (i.e. if you are trying to input right roll with your left hand

You should avoid any technique used in a large turbojet aircraft if you’re just starting out. Stick with what your CFI will teach you. From where you're at, they are worlds apart.

I'm pretty sure you don't have a clue what you're talking about. How do I know? Because I'm an airline captain.

In Communist Russia, barriers crash into you.

I clued into the 996 market about a year ago. I bought a ‘99 with a double row IMS, which has a very low failure rate. I went ahead and still replaced it with a double row ceramic bearing just so I wouldn’t have to listen to people gasp if I had to tell them I still had the original IMS installed.
