I love this car but I get so sick of listening to people complain about the wing and looks. If you don’t like it then get a different car. You guys are missing the point. This is to make a statement. That Honda is still likes crazy and is not a boring accord machine. This is the fun wild one in the family.

The Type R feels like it is on another level in regards to chassis/suspension tuning when compared to it’s contemporaries like the STI or Focus RS.

you’re 250 years too late with this argument mate.

The ND Miata proves it CAN be done another way, but yes, for the vast majority this is the case.

Also modern emissions and safety tech is expensive and convincing people to pay for it requires amenities that also cost money.

Profit margins are higher on bigger, more expensive cars.

It’s a weight and complexity for manufacturing thing. Stud + two piece lug nut weighs more than a bolt, is more parts to manufacture, and more complex (you have to make two pieces for the lug nut and join them as well as press a stud into the hub).

Porsche owner here, get a threaded hanger, makes it super easy.

I just don’t like the NBs and NCs as much as either the NA or the Fiata (and I like the Fiata better than the ND). The NA really is a modern classic at this point, but between the price and not having time to deal with “old car dilemmas” it made sense to just buy new - especially given the huge discounts on leftover

“I guess I could pick it up at the estate sale instead.”

NA Miata prices are insane. When I was looking last year, I fairly quickly realized that one in the condition I wanted was going to be $12K+. Decided to just buy a leftover new Fiata for less than double that instead. New car, no dilemmas, just turn the key and drive the thing. The depreciation is worth the lack of

They wouldn’t budge on the price after all those issues??

No if you look at the build thread it was stanced to shit with so many bad mods. This thing has been ruined for sure.

Back when premium was 20 cents a gallon more than regular and gas was over $3 a gallon it wasn’t a big deal. Now that gas is under $1.80 and the premium premium is 60 cent or more, it significantly increases your fuel expense.

Proving Grounds Playlist. Enjoy!

Autoplay videos, pop-up ads, and sponsored posts loading in between actual content just as I am trying to click...all working perfectly.

I know this is an automobile “Enthusiast” site but Damn am I tired of the comment section of almost everything dissolving into exterior/aesthetics. Bleh.

The steering is either overly light or overly heavy, and doesn’t say too much in the way of feedback. But it’s accurate.

Not sure how you got that from my post. “I’m a Volvo guy” =/= “beholden” to anything. I currently own a Ford, a Toyota, and an MG, in addition to a few Volvos ranging from 1964 to 2018. I’ve also owned all sorts of Germans cars and grew up on American cars. I’ve lost count but I’m closing in on 150 vehicles owned, of

Looking at the how far emissions standards have come since 1990, I would argue cars are far and away massively cleaner than they were in 1990. You don’t even smell most vehicle exhaust anymore.
