So kids don’t know stealing cars multiple times is wrong? Bad people exist, as much as you don’t want to believe it. This isn’t Bernie Sanders World; this is reality.

They were bad people, not someone who died by accident.
You risk your life to save innocent people, not guilty people from their own actions. They took as much risk as was feasible without being reckless.
So it’s normal to be a car thief?
Who would be friends with known criminals? What real family wouldn’t have sent them to boot camp or something?
But they’re alive and didn’t steal anyone’s car, and those facts count for something.
You’re not supposed to have sympathy for bad people. That’s a crook-coddling mentality.
They took a known risk by engaging in a vehicular chase. They ended up on the losing end. We’re lucky that they didn’t kill an innocent person instead with their reckless behavior; that’s what usually happens.
Usually it’s good people suffering for bad people’s actions - e.g. being crippled by drunk drivers. This is one of the rare times that something bad happened to bad people.
