I loved so many of his performances. And I know Hawkeye and the chicken is what always gets the attention whenever Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen is mentioned, but Charles and the musicians was the story that really moved me, which was due mostly to how well he played it.

RIP to a versatile actor who played a glorious asshole, and seemed to relish being that way.

Last time I saw the pixies (after buying last minute tickets for way too much money) Kim wan’t with them. It broke my heart a little.

Gaiman has approval over anything involving Sandman. James Robinson has the same deal regarding Jack Knight/Starman. DC can do whatever they want with the Endless, but if they want to keep Gaiman happy, they run it past him first.

Actually, Sandman is in no way, shape, or form creator owned. Work for hire entirely. DC has just been more than usually decent about how they’ve used the characters. If they were of a mind to do it, they could have Dream fighting crime alongside Batman tomorrow.

Well, I say this as a person, Joel;

The US theatrical cut of Brazil was Gilliam’s- the “Love Conquers All” version went unseen until the film was released to television, where it being shorter made it the easy option. The US cut is a bit different both from the international cut, Gilliam made the movie a little shorter and funnier and added the song to

No, they 100% helped people. They funded many, many arts projects headed by young people. Allowed young artists funding to produce stage shows and short films and similar, and gave them incredibly access to a broader market (for example if the foundation gave you a grant to produce a piece of filmed work, you could

It was offensive, then two short years later Short Circuit came along and totally eclipsed it.

For years “back in bowl” was a line my family quoted, and that makes me cringe to think about now. But boy, did we love the movie.

All of Me is a great movie. It has Richard Libertini in it, so perhaps that doesn’t need to be said?

Well assumed that meant providing funding to external programs via grants etc. Good point about the funding origins, you’re likely right the bulk came directly from Spacey and his fund raising efforts/connections.

I always take the chance to tell people to check out his “Global Frequency” adaptation. WB decided not to pick it up after the pilot was leaked but the script is really good.

The Librarians is excellent old school genre tv: solid monster of the week episodes that are the building blocks of an overarching serialized narrative.

Somewhere, Robert Townsend gazes at the Meteor Man suit in his rec room and sighs.

Don’t forget his series Leverage.

Yeah, he’s also the creator of the Jaime Reyes Blue Beetle. Nice guy.

The show’s central topic itself is something everyone wants to avoid thinking about... until it happens to them. For that reason alone, I think more people ought to give it a chance. There are some universal patterns from failed marriages that the show is drawing upon and all relationships can benefit from a little

I like this show a whole bunch, but I really don’t know anyone else who watches it.

Bound, bound, bound and rebound. Rest in peace, Bud.
