Many of the same problems are in WW as there are in the others and if it was called Wonder Man and Chris Pine was the superhero lets be honest the film be closer to 60-70 percent favorable review range.

There’s criticism and then there’s the shit that causes Kelly Marie Tran to quit the internet. With the exception of North, I’m pretty sure Ebert never went into the second column.

Holdo’s story is key to the whole theme of failure in the film- neither she nor Poe make the most optimal decisions and perhaps some of the disaster could have been avoided, but we see why they don’t trust each other and why communication breaks down.

There are certainly similarities but I don’t think it’s anywhere close enough for plagiarism.

But the ruling didn’t strike down the law, it just ruled that the enforcement of this law was biased and faulty.

Looks like AV Club removed most of their older (and, in many cases, classic) Undercover videos. If you check Youtube, most of the videos that are still available are mirrors posted by other people. For whatever reason, nobody felt like posting a copy of “We Belong”

Actually the Roberts court legalized same-sex marriage. I’m sure you’re being sour because of Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission but that was hardly the blow against Gay Rights (and some, like the ACLU, have argued that it was actually a minor win).

I’m interested in what they call a “big venue” because this can’t possibly be the case. I’m sure it would put a damper on arenas but they aren’t playing arenas. On top of that, I haven’t seen this reported beyond Punk news sites. It hasn’t been a big issue.

Good for them. I thought that their storyline on Game of Thrones was handled horribly and I think of all of the deviations from the novels, it was the most needless and egregious.

You’re allowed to refuse service to someone for being a cancer consuming what’s left of civic decency.

I’m actually checking this band’s music out now because these are such good picks. Good job, AV Club!

I often don’t agree with David Simon on a lot of things (and I personally credit Ed Burns more for the brilliance of The Wire than Simon) but as proselytizing celebrities go, he is as good as you get.

Personally, I didn’t think any of Clive Barker’s films were good - not Hellraiser, Nightbreed or Lord of Illusions - but they were almost good (like “this close”) and all are prime candidates for remakes.

In a perfect world, “labcoat lesbian” would be paid for this article.

Even though I’ve given up on the Marvel shows, I’m willing to give Luke Cage a shot. I was very disappointed with the first season which was slow and preachy, spent most of its time convincing its lead to actually do something, and squandered a lot of good actors including further wasting Rosario Dawson’s time.

Paul Westerberg, Kanye, and, if he hadn’t died, Joe Strummer (whose Mescaleros albums are severely underrated)

They grabbed literally the worst possible picture of the guy possible. If you are actually suspicious of his heartthrob bonifides, do a quick Google search. Even if you’re not into white dudes, you would have to admit that he’s a handsome man.

I hope this is good as it’s an interesting story. I’m not sure Rudd is the best casting, though.

The apathetic title combined with the prospect of eternal screenings makes for a pitch-perfect dig on the seemingly never-ending film series, which, almost everyone can agree, has had diminishing returns since the first outing.

I remember that, sometime in the 80's I think, Playboy did an interview with Koko that they filmed and then presented with the answers as per Koko’s handlers as well as by Sign Language expert.
