I think Snyder fanboys, at this point, are such a sad and lonely lot that I feel bad accusing them of anything but, to some degree, you’re right. I have seen too many calls for an original, Whedon-free cut of Justice League to disagree with you but I do think that there plenty of Whedon criticism from people like me,

I think so. I do think that Snyder still gets a good chunk of the blame but Whedon took so much ownership of the film that I see him getting blamed a lot, as well.

Audience disdain for Age of Ultron is hard to square with the 1.5 billion it made worldwide

I find it interesting how much Whedon’s stock has fallen since the first Avengers movie. I remember after he released it, and Much Ado About Nothing soon after, he was being hailed as a genius. Now, after the disdain that the audience has towards Age of Ultron and Justice League, the damning accusations of his

Yeah, I’m the same way. Crazy, “self-absorbed asshole Kanye” is the Kanye we have been sold from the beginning.

Being an asshole is kinda Kanye’s brand. It would be debatable if he didn’t both (a) admit it and (b) make it the primary focus of a lot of his work. He’s like the Dan Harmon of rappers.

Yep, though most people don’t know what a “trilby” is, including the author of this article.

Technically, because it makes you beard look better and groomed. In practice, it’s because neckbeards are associated with the kind of lazy, gross people who spend so much of their time on the Internet making it horrible for everybody else.

I gave up on Archer, last season. It seems the creators are bored with the show or, at least, the show that I enjoyed.

Ugh, gross. Thanks for this.

I think so. There are a lot of places on the show where the joke relies on the audience going “that’s so horrible” rather than “that’s so cool” and the show often hits the point that Rick is lonely, unhappy, and genuinely needs/wants his family, no matter what he says or believes.

Woah, he said that? That’s horrific. Do you have a link?

It’s tough because I really like the show. It’s funny, imaginative, and well written. That said, I watch it now and see how it both appeals to toxic fandom and weaponizes it.

The show is made with the expectation that the audience will, at it’s core, respond badly to Rick no matter how much he succeeds and I think the

Yeah, it’s still not healthy, tho...

I dunno. Freeman, in just about every profile, admits that he’s not the affable like the characters he plays and he can be a bit of a dick. This EW profile is like every other in-depth one I have read.

I know that I’m in the vast minority, but I don’t see what Jeter and Co. are doing is that egregious.

I remember when my beloved SF Giants hired a new GM named Brian Sabean who proceeded to trade Matt Williams, the only player outside of Bonds who was worth a good goddamn, for some scrubs and some money that he used

I liked Mindhunter for a good bit but I felt that it started losing steam by the end. I’ll watch a 2nd season but I’m not particularly excited about it.

He didn’t. I assume that he took it because he had some ideas about what to with the film and because he has done some great work with Brad Pitt.

I remember watching him on The Surreal Life and realizing that the guy had real problems.

He wasn’t so much an active asshole but his personality was very prickly and sometimes unpleasant. He seemed to actively loathe the attention that he received while being aware that the attention was also how he made money. I

I don’t think Blair has a chance in Hell of winning but I adore her. I think she will be one of those queens that does well in the competition, might even make top three, and develop a popular following outside of the show.
