This afternoon, I was in my swimming pool center just walking around waiting to get in, and all I could think of was either Ghibli or really classic/children anime (and ones that are like Ghibli, but are either absolutely non-Ghibli or at least MOSTLY non-Ghibli, even in the current era) to look to in case Ghibli

also Ponyo was one of the best miyazaki films, along with Spirited Away.

I agree with you on Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, and Fantasia, but disagree with the others.

Hey dude, I totally agree with you on Pixar not coming anywhere near the awesomeness and coolness of Ghibli. Pixar has great films, but not many characters that make you attracted to/feel related to and think that are beautiful and charming, maybe due to the fact that's it's CGI rather than traditional-drawn.

yes go takahata!

I guess for the time being, while Ghibli is on their little "hiatus", I will just be looking at "World Masterpiece Theater" or "Kaiketsu Zorro" or something from this guy named Osamu Tezuka or something from Nippon Animation.

The only true replacement to Hayao Miyazaki is either his son or Isao Takahata. I can't think of anyone else at the moment, other than some REALLY old-time animators of other REALLY great non-Ghibli/non-Miyazaki anime that I may have vaguely remembered watching or seen artwork of when I was a children.
