E-cigs DO NOT have exposed battery terminals but if you remove a battery and put it in your pocket with coins and keys without using a proper case this is the result. Would you remove the battery from your car then sit on it wearing chain mail? (I know that’s far-fetched but it’s an illustration of how unwise it is

Please understand this is yet another incident of shorting a high energy lithium battery. The battery was not in an e-cig, it was (unwisely) loose in a pocket where it could be shorted be keys, coins etc. The same would happen if a smartphone battery were shorted.
