Cliff Martinez - They Broke His Pelvis (Drive OST)

…aaand now the Just Can't Get Enough synth riff is stuck in my brain.

Yeah, certainly for someone who apparently knows who Dan Savage is. I do think that particular letter crosses a lot of the boxes for "thinly veiled airing of sexual fantasy" that crops up here from time to time, so that might be it.

It certainly is, but the special effects in 6 blows 4 out of the water, while still being used to convey a relevant and coherent story. While 4 is of course great as well, it's corresponding scenes just looks a bit too stiff for me to fully immerse myself, while I'm still holding up the space battle in 6 as the best

I don't even know what that means!!! :(

I had never heard of Arli$$ before this, what made it so bad? Rob Wuhl is usually decent whenever he pops up in something I watch.

One of my more controversial pop culture opinions is that Ep. 6 is better than Ep. 4. It's is weirdly structured and grinds to a halt when the heroes are captured by the Ewoks, but the prologue, the cross-cutting finale and the special effects are all great enough to make it the second best Star Wars film in my book.

Possibly. I guess I'm in doubt about whether "bought" companionship is a good way to overcome those kinds of emotional issues, but I might of course be wrong. And, as someone mentioned upthread, the guy might of course also not have any emotional/social issues at all, and want to see an escort for completely different

I don't think that's a very reasonable interpretation of what I wrote.

"Enabling him" as in enabling him to hire an escort. I think my intuition goes something like this: The letter implies that this is a person who, for whatever reason, find it difficult to establish various kinds of relationships. Hiring an escort seems like a shortcut to scratching that itch, but won't help him deal

Does thinking "you should probably spend your energy convincing your brother that hiring an escort is a bad idea rather than enabling him" make me a sex-negative bore?

That castle looked stupid on screen. Just because Ralph McQuarrie drew something once it doesn't mean it's automatically badass.

But nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!

The Love Thieves is a pretty cool track, and signifies the weird mix of country twang and trip-hop on Ultra really well.

That one felt a lot like one of those letters where someone is airing a sexual fantasy rather than asking a legit question.

*Lurks intensively*

I'm a huge fan of Azzarello's superhero work, he's a damn master of conveying mod, plot and character with a minimal amount of exposition. I don't think he's ever been very interested in working within the restraints of continuity though, which sometimes results in highly distinct and thereby controversial takes on

Those kneecap shots are fucking brutal! I mean, go for the thigh or something, a bullet shattering a knee is just nightmare fuel!

I read somewhere that Patrick got that cold, dead-eyed look from studying the "facial expressions" of various birds of prey.

Just like Superman and that mild-mannered reporter Clark Kent.
