Don’t apologize. Whether he’s a “collector” or a “hoarder” really doesn’t matter.
I didn’t know about Lloyd and now I’m IN LOVE with this LT 600.
In another bizarre connection, I read on a Japanese site that originally FHI wanted the Subaru 360 to be front wheel drive and they had examined a Lloyd. FHI’s engineers determined that building reliable CV joints would make the car too expensive though, so they moved the engine to the rear and started over. They were…
It was a brilliant bit of engineering which everyone would come to realize, but, yeah, forget where it originated. Not to mention Subaru who copied their flat-4 from Lloyd.
So basically it’s a Lloyd with the transverse mounted inline 2-stroke replaced with a flat twin 4-stroke. The engine and front end look vaguely reminiscent of a Panhard from about the same era.
