Plus how much of Britney’s breakdown was her merely reacting to the circumstances she was in rather than having a behavioral health problem?
Plus how much of Britney’s breakdown was her merely reacting to the circumstances she was in rather than having a behavioral health problem?
We absolutely, completely, 100% agree on Britney. She had a public breakdown, like many young stars do. The fact that she’s been in a conservatorship for 13 years because of it is completely disproportionate to what happened.
When you look at Britney as a whole person, she really wasn’t that threatening or reckless or self-harming. She was a child star in fits of rebellion. I can think of five grown ass men who were violent and did the same shit she did on a grander scale and no one would think of putting them under a conservatorship.…
Huh. She puts a space between the end of her sentences and their punctuation. That’s a French thing.
But that’s the problem with conservatorships: they’re self-reinforcing.
If not being in full control of your emotions is one of the legal elements for a conservatorship a lot of us better hope no one drags us into court.
It may or may not be true that something like this will make it more difficult for her to end her conservatorship. But if true, that is more an indictment of the judge overseeing her conservatorship, and of the entire conservatorship system in general, than anything else. Being “in full control of her emotions” is not…
but she’s capable of performing?
You think it only takes an hour to rehearse for a 90+ minute show? Seriously, GTFO. It’s likely 3 hours *minimum* on top of the time devoted to hair, makeup and wardrobes, meetings, plus whatever workout routine her trainer has her on to help keep up the stamina she needs to dance for 90 minutes. It’s this isn’t a…
YES. 20 minutes to account for 30+ years? Find me ANYONE who doesn’t speak professionally and make them talk for three minutes. see how it turns out.
She sounds like a woman that is very nervous trying to tell the court and the world all she has been through and condense it down to about 20 mins.
Exactly what are they afraid Britney will do if they terminate the conservatorship? Spend money? How many people have gone bankrupt? Do drugs? How many people have gone to rehab multiple times? Not take her meds? Happens every day in America. The difference she is a woman with millions of dollars who was in a bad…
Exactly. You can have a family member who is a danger to themselves or others, but after that 72 hour psych hold, you can’t force them to do much of anything.
Starring this because I can’t manage to actually view and star the reply you left to me in another thread! (Why is kinja so difficult?!)
If she’s able to tour and do a Vegas residency, then there’s no justification for the level of control Britney describes. This isn’t just fans filling in the blanks. The fact that her team felt they could even ask her to perform at that level undermines the argument that she’s too sick to be able to make basic…
Meanwhile, every other family dealing with a severely mentally ill family member can’t get ANYONE to even try to “help.” I guess because serious money is involved? WTF?
While I agree that there may be some things people are worried about her taking absolute control of her life, which to me means her millions of dollars they may fear she may blow or be manipulated by scum like Sam Lufti to steal from her, I can absolutely say it is abuse and horrific to deny a human their basic rights…
It’s a gross conflict of interest. Theoretically I’m not against doctors talking to some people in her life, because sometime you do need to talk to people who have be there to observe your patient outside of the office to assess their current state. But it’s sketchy as fuck to include input from people whose primary…
“during these proceedings, Jamie Spears has sold the family home and is currently living in an RV parked in a warehouse full of Britney Spears memorabilia in her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana.”
