Yeah, it’s out of date. USC used to be everyone’s fall-back school. Some time in the late-’90s to early ’00s things suddenly shifted in a big way. It’s now much, much harder to get into than it was 25 years ago.

Well clearly your SAT scores did not help you understand the differences between state schools and private schools. USC is not a state school. UCLA has harder admissions than almost any UC.
