During the 70's gasoline embargo/crisis, we had our 79' Eldorado converted to a dual-fuel system (gasoline/propane). It ran great on the propane, but the notion didn't catch on (although the car is now happily ensconced somewhere in Belize).

Absolutely right. Any industrial operation of the proposed size has dozens, if not hundreds, of spinoff consequences: everything from housing to supermarkets to plumbing supply. It's about much more than just the proposed 6500 factory jobs. It's also about taking care of the needs of the familities of the 6500

Or you could have bought the base model for $69,000, applied the $7,500 tax credit, figured on saving a minimum of $12oo/yr in gas, plus maintenance savings, ridiculously lower registration fee for a car of that class in AZ, lower insurance (because safest car on the road) and....
