The Dexter one was a terrible twist which came about 10 years too late.
Let me guess… he comes across an evil speedster whose identity is shrouded in secrecy and cannot be defeated until Barry learns to believe in himself?

"Get you pile of cardboard boxes here! Hey!"
Yeah, I agree that they could have spent a lot longer building out the world of GoT at the 'ground level', showing more of what it's like for the common people via Arya. They could have also tested her resolve for revenge, maybe giving her attachments, other people she cared about.
I think Dany's Meereen arc was anything but a waste. It forced her to rely on others to rule, questioned her notion that to conquer is to win and reminded her that loyalty is something that must be earned, not taken. It also exposed her many weaknesses as a character ('such as her belief in ruling being her…
Assuming that Martin continues to base the story on the War of the Roses, then it'll all end with an heir to the Lannisters getting married to a Stark and uniting the north and the south. My money's on Tyrion and Sansa rekindling their marriage vows.

I didn't think she did any more…
But have you written an entire treatise on the philosophy of Eva?
It depends on the production company really. Sometimes the writer creates the vision and the director executes that vision; Sometimes the producer(s) have market-tested the vision and keep hiring new writers and script doctors until one of them finally gets that concept 'right'.
Some of the Ares stuff could have been interesting since it veers into biblical territory with Ares cast as a Satanic manipulator and Diana as some kind of messiah… but they really needed to commit to it properly and not just have 20 minutes of lightning bolts followed by all the problems vanishing the second Ares is…
The concept that Diana can dodge bullets, but not immediately work out how a revolving door works was extremely silly.
