When coincidences are repeated again and again, that’s called a pattern.

This is why I point out that people who stat this show is ‘true Star Trek’ want a show where they get told what to think. They don’t like paying attention and even will wilfully refuse to.

Yeah, it “feels” like a stretch. Now try thinking instead of just “feeling”. If Lamarr’s sexaual harrassment of Anara was ever referred to afterwards (it never was), if any of the people shown up for the 10 mil downvote prize weren’t men (they all were) if any of the actually reasons for getting caught shown wasn’t

Are you upset that the judge decided to not accept your defense of using roofies on people to claim that the non-consensual sex you had with them wasn’t consensual because, hey, they didn’t say no? Is the immagined right to drug people into complying with with what you want them to do because the effect is temporary

You couple that with Ed’s endless harping about Kelly’s infidelity (the only character ever to defend Kelly’s POV was a Krill bad guy) and then Pria... and also One Million Ways to Die in the West. Its more than weird. It’s a freaking disturbing glance into Seth MacFarlane’s thinking patterns.

Probably warm jello while using the gentle wash setting in your washing machine

The only real innovation here is that Seth is writing this through the lens of the Hollywood Man’s club, with all the ickiness you’d expect if harvey Weinstein was writing these episodes.

Except that Seth slip in subtext that the real victims of social media are men who disrespect women. All four 10 mil vote victims are men, both times we get to see the reason, it’s for disrespecting women, and Lamarr is punished after attempting to humiliate Anara in public through sexual harassment. This is Star

Some of us listen to our actor as well. Michael has such a distinctive voice that its really hard not to recognize him.

Well, Seth is dating her, so she has been given the least “this is why I resent woman” role on the show.

Well, you could say that both Kelly and Ed are mildly obsessive people, who generally direct their energies into their jobs, so its reasonable that when their focus turns elsewhere, so would their absolute interest. However, with Claire, that’s a completely different story.  People defended her murdering of Drogen

Not to mention what this will do to the reputation of Union diplomacy.

Well, people might have their guards up if they know you are going to roofie them in order to have sex. That could certainly put a crimp in the ‘fun’, now wouldn’t it?

That’s fine when they are interacting with their own culture. But there has to be some sense of compromise both ways when two different cultures are interacting with each other.

Not only that, think of the diplomatic disaster this will be for the Union when it gets out they are willing to drug ambassadors who’ve shown up in good faith when thigns don’t go the way the Union wants.

I think you forgot to put the ;-) in there. Mercer has shown to be barely competent enough to handle a mail run.

I am not. Because the issue of removal of consent in this episode extends far beyond simply taking away consent from human beings for the purposed of sex. It was also used in this story to force the two species to comply to the Unions demands. Essentially the two parties were brought into the discussions for peace

Are you one of those people who think that rape is about sex? But the issue here isn’t about sex. Its about consent. CONSENT. And this show has shits and giggles about people being denied the capacity to consent to what is being done to them, and that being considered OK because its ‘temporary’.

If you actually pay attention, it becomes clear that he knows exactly what he did, but doesn’t care because he considers it ‘temporary’. He only becomes concerned after Anara’s prediction comes true.

That’s right. I mean, Weinstien truthfully pointed out that he shouldn’t be judged by today’s morality because that’s not the culture he’s from;-)
