You totally have the wrong idea. Some of my favorite shows to read about on AVClub are the ones where the reviewers obviously hate or don't get it.

Yeah, when I saw the live action stuff I assumed they had this one cooking for a while. It's not uncommon though. Doesn't take away from the humor.

It got funnier for me when it became apparent nobody was going to address it. Or maybe they did and I laughed over it, I dunno. But I loved this episode. Funniest of the season.
