yeah, the good thing about Google is companies don't like blocking it. Same goes for Gmail, Gtalk etc. That's going to be the problem if Facebook start file-hosting, it will be blocked in almost every work environment so will be next to useless.

lol... BUT that's exactly what I did! Went to XDA, looked for the HTC Desire dev section, read through the rom threads one by one, tried a couple, etc. No quick fixes, just a few hours of reading and learning.
HTC Desire original Bravo / MiuiXJ latest / ManuU-2.1_GB-HAVS_AXI_128_BFS / running .20 radio - search the Desire forum on XDA, it's all there
best thing to extend your battery is to make sure you have the recommended radio for your Rom and also an optimised kernel with adjustable governors. My phone went from 8 hours charge to 18 hours charge just by changing those two (using MIUI btw).
wired ethernet ftw every time. I use wireless on my phone, but generally if I have an option to plug it in I will.
I never needed to do this, as my library was organised from the start (hangover from alphabetising my LPs as a kid). Usually by typing exactly what it says on the cover into EAC at the time of rip. Sorted.
so it's sharing between machines via Lan, or does it go into the cloud first?
ah interesting. Although I've noticed interlacing on NTSC dvds, but not on Pal dvds. Always wondered why that was.
Sweeny Todd was a stage play first (as I'm sure you're aware), and in it Todd is a dithering middle-aged balding man, and his beau a "Miss Marple" ageing Lady. So Burton definitely molded that to fit his worldview (Todd turns into Dave Vanian etc)
yeah, but unless it comes off your camcorder, or downsampled from Bluray, where are you going to get a 720 stream? Movies either come on DVD (576p), TV (1080i) or Blu-ray (1080p). I can see an argument for downsampling your blurays to 720p for your XBMC to save space, but why would you re-encode your 1080p bluray to…
that's NTSC dvd. But yeah, I stand corrected
UK dvds are 576p, but I'll take your correction :)
agreed, that's been my experience. Watching the same movie on dvd, 1080i Satellite and Blu-ray and the 1080i is much closer to blu-ray than the dvd is. (all are watchable, ultimately, and it depends how fussy you are lol)
interesting. I have SkyHD, which is 1080i, and I can tell you for a fact that a movie on there is much sharper and better than an upscaled 720p dvd (even though my blu-ray player does a good job at that). Not quite Blu-ray, as you say, but it's definitely better than SD.
I have a 40" tv, and the sofa is approx 4 feet away, and I can definitely tell the difference. Watching non-HD gives me a headache (literally), it's like watching TV without your glasses on.
yeah. that's pretty much essential if you've got Saw and Disney on your server. (Still wish XBMC could filter by rating though, enter a password to see the 18+ movies instead of fiddling about with profiles)
Transparency has been my skin of choice for a while now. because of the beautiful way it handles fanart/disk art etc. All kudos to Ronie. Looks gorgeous on the big screen.
oh, and if you're feeling Maccy, here is a Launchpad clone:
thing is, it was so similar to the kind of comment that shows up during these "discussions" that it's hard to tell the difference sometimes.
ah, sorry, I was thrown by the lack of a :p
